more rice...and dried fish

Today was the begining of our second week. It started out the same as last week with a flag raising ceremony. After the songs and pledges and a dance from grade 2, we were able to get a picture of us with all of the students and teachers of the school. We then began with our lessons, we started by talking about energy pyramids in grade 5 science, then we went to grade 6 to teach about energy and the uses of energy.
We were then called to the principals office (no detentions though!)to plan out our schedule for this week. We are going to have a busy week!
After lunch we taught percentages in grade 5 math and graphs in grade 6 math. We then had some time to organize our stuff and then join the staff for devotions. We were able to explain some of the math and science manipulatives that we sent ahead in the big boxes. After our meeting was done we joined the staff for a dinner of dried fish and squid (with rice of course), but since they figured we wouldn't even like the smell of the dried fish, they made us fried chicken instead.
We did not have to lesson plan tonight because we are suddenly done teaching because our schedule has become too busy. Tomorrow we will begin visiting the younger grades, since we have not been able to spend time with them yet.
After this morning's flag ceremony we took a picture with the entire school. Where's Heather and Maria?

Heather teaching grade 6 science.

Huey gave us each a bracelet. Here he is explaining what each of the color beads represents.
