62 hours later...

Well, we thought that 24 hours would be a long time to get here, but we were wrong. We are finally here and it took us 62 hours to get here. Here is a short summary of our experiences over the last 62 hours.
-checking in at the counter in Grand Rapids, the lady scared us by telling us we needed visas to travel to the Philippines, luckily she typed something in incorrectly.
-arriving in Chicago to see that our 12:16 flight now said 5:45
-waiting in line at customer service (the first of many...)
-our United representative, Michael told us we were booked on a new plane and gave us each a $10 meal voucher (we were very excited about the vouchers!)
-At this point we would be getting to Manila about 14 hours later than planned because we would miss our third flight
-After a long afternoon in the airport and a few more time changes, we boarded the plane at about 6:30. We then sat in the plane, backed out of the gate, and continued to sit on the ground. -At about 9:30 our pilot told us that we would not be flying that night because the nose gear was damaged.
-We waited in line and got 3 more vouchers and a hotel room at the Crown Plaza
-We made it to the hotel restaurant with 10 minutes to spare and had a delicious meal.
-Our flight was scheduled to fly out at 3:45pm on Friday, so we arrived back at the airport and got into a customer service line again to reschedule our flight to Manila another time.
-We finally boarded the plane at about 4:45 and took off from Chicago at about 5:45.
-We made it to Hong Kong at about 10:30pm their time (after a 15 hour flight) and got another free hotel and some more meal vouchers.
-We had a rough few hours of sleep and got up early to catch our plane which finally took us to Manila.
-We arrived in Manila at about 11:10 and were very happy to see that our luggage arrived with us.
-We finally made it through all the lines and were happy to see Precy, Elma, Raul, and Ira waiting for us.
-We were welcomed by Pastor Leo, Merisha, and many other church members when we got to the school/church.

Although this trip took us much longer than we expected, we did see God's hand blessing us through it.
-We had a chance to get to know many people that were on the same flight as us and had a good time sharing stories with them.
-We had an empty seat in our row on our long flight that gave us extra room
-We had two hotels provided to give us good night sleep while we were waiting -We had exit row seats on our last flight which gave us extra room (we even had tvs to watch The Office on!)
-Between the two of us we collected $150 worth of vouchers in the US, and $680 worth of Hong Kong dollar vouchers

We are so happy to be here and appreciate all of your prayers!

Dad asked if we wanted to go to the Philippines... we both answered as long as the flight doesn't go like Maria's.

We'll have to skype sometime. I'm free all day 7:30-4 tomorrow. Is it weird that those are the hours I'm aupposed to work?
